Professor Ella Marchment is an award-winning Opera Director and Artistic Director known for staging iconic opera, musical, theatre, and film productions globally, including Carmen for Opera Montana; Lucia di Lammermoor for Immling Festival; King Roger for Channel 4; the International Opera Awards at Teatro Real in Madrid and the London Coliseum in London; My Fair Lady for Theater Orchester Neubrandenburg Neustrelitz; L’Aube Rouge for Wexford Festival Opera; Le Roi de Lahore for Dorset Opera; OperaHarmony and Golden Crown for OperaVision; and Little Women for Opera Holland Park. Ella is also the Associate Director of the Artist Diploma in Opera Studies at The Juilliard School in New York, and a co-founder of the Opera Festival of Chicago, Theatre N16, Helios Collective, and SWAP’ra. Major award prizes and nominations have included the Götz-Friedrich Prize, the International Opera Awards, the National Opera Association Awards (NOA), the European Opera Directing Prize, the Women of the Future Awards, and OPERA America Leadership Intensive.
